Andrew has over 20 years’ experience working in community recreation and sport across the local government and not for profit sectors. In March 2020 Andrew’s life changed forever when he became a tetraplegic following a serious mountain bike accident. 3 years on Andrew’s recovery has been remarkable, and physical activity particularly in the great outdoors has played a critical role in his journey. His experiences are now driving a passion to improve accessibility in the outdoors for people with disabilities, leading a national approach to the creation of standards, guidelines, and consumer information.

David is the Dr Frank Hayden Endowed Chair in Sport and Social Impact, School of Kinesiology, Faculty of Health Sciences, Western University, CANADA. 

David is 4-time Paralympian and two-time medalist having competed for Canada in athletics as a middle-distance runner (Class T 37) from 1988-2000. Between 1996-2000 he acted as athlete’s representative to IPC Athletics. He has been an advisor in the past to CP-ISRA and the Canadian Paralympic Committee. David was on the scientific committee for VISTA 2019 and has been a member of the IPC’s Sport Science Working Group since its formation in 2019.

Dr Emma Beckman is a Teaching and Research academic at the University of Queensland. Emma is passionate about engaging in research to improve the lives of people with a disability through sports, physical activity, and exercise. Following a master’s degree in Adapted physical activity, Emma completed her PhD in strength assessment for classification in Para Sport. She is currently a co-investigator in the UQ IPC Classification Research Partnership, and an internationally accredited classifier in Para Athletics. Emma’s research interests include increasing participation in physical activity, sport and exercise in people with a disability as well as improving high performance sport outcomes, and she has a particular interest in athletes with high support needs.

Michael is the Founder and Consultant at Inclusive Sport Design. He draws on his 15-plus years of experience as a sports administrator leading inclusion programming, strategy and policy to help sports people and organisations at all levels create more welcoming and inclusive opportunities. Michael is passionate about improving accessibility, equality and diversity in sports with extensive experience in disability and Para-sport pathways and program design. Michael strives to create welcoming and inclusive opportunities so that sport is something that everyone can be a part of. Why? So that sport reflects the diversity of our communities.

Simon Darcy is a Professor of Social Inclusion at the UTS Business School, University of Technology Sydney. He is an interdisciplinary mixed methods researcher with expertise in developing inclusive organisational practices for diversity groups. Simon’s academic and industry-based work in disability, sport and events has led to collaborations with local, regional, national and international organisations including the Australian Sports Commission, International Paralympic Committee and UN World Tourism Organization. He was also a consultant for the Sydney Olympic Coordination Authority in the lead up to the Sydney 2000 Olympic and Paralympic Games, and has recently completed work on inclusion for surf and beach related activities. Simon has a high level a spinal cord injury and is a power wheelchair user who brings an insider's perspective to translating academic research into policy and practice for a more inclusive society.
